Ghaziabad senior superintendent of police (SSP) Prashant Kumar termed the letter a hoax. "The letter seemed to be written with some ulterior motive. We have beefed up security and are holding discussions with bar association members. We are investigating the matter," he said.

The letter was found by some lawyers inside a toilet adjacent to the bar association room inside the Ghaziabad court on Tuesday.

"We handed over the letter to the police for investigation. More police personnel were deployed around the court complex. The letter mentioned Ajmal Kasab and it also had several sentences on creating hatred between communities. This seems to be the handiwork of some miscreants," bar association president Bhartendu Sharma told Hindustan Times.

Senior police officials visited the spot and tightened the security, which had already been tightened after a shootout on October 11 between members of two gangs.
