FORMER RAJYA Sabha Member of Parliament (MP) Ratnaker Pandey, while highlighting the grim law and order scenario in the State under the Mulayam Singh government, demanded imposition of President’s rule for ensuring free and fair assembly polls.

“United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Chairperson Sonia Gandhi has categorically stated that the situation was worse in Uttar Pradesh and the same needed to be taken seriously so that the upcoming assembly elections are held in free and fair manner”, the senior Congress leader said in a Press conference.
“Elections for the state assemblies across the country should never be held under the political governments rather it should be made mandatory for the Central Government to conduct such elections under President’s Rule”, Pandey said.
Referring to reported observation by the Planning Commission about diversion of Central funds by the State Government, the former member of parliament demanded that Mulayam Singh government should be booked for financial embezzlement.
He questioned the distribution of unemployment allowance by the Mulayam government saying the funds should have been judiciously used for development of infrastructure.
The former Member of Parliament said he would be holding rallies of the employees of cement factories at Dala, Churk and Chunar in Sonebhadra and Mirzapur districts in the first week of December.
