Hooda takes oath as Haryana CM

Haryana Governor AR Kidwai administered the oath of office and secrecy to the 57-year-old Hooda.

Jat leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda was sworn in as the 19th Chief Minister of Haryana on Saturday, ending nearly a week of uncertainty.

Haryana Governor AR Kidwai administered the oath of office and secrecy to the 57-year-old Hooda at the lawns of the Raj Bhavan in Chandigarh.

Hooda's rival contender Bhajan Lal also attended the function.

Hundreds of his supporters from the Jat community and over 50 legislators who decided on Friday that he would be the next chief minister were present on the occasion.

Congress leaders and supporters shouted slogans as Hooda completed his oath and signed official papers. His family members were present on the occasion.
