He said under this scheme, a building would also be constructed in the village under Backward Regions Grant Fund and a sum of Rs 60 lakh would be spent on it. As a group about 120 people of the village would make sweaters, shirts and uniforms, the spokesperson said.

He said about 11 years ago two persons had started this hosiery business. All beneficiaries of the scheme belonged to Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes and it is the first group of its kind in the country.

Union ministry of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) had given green signal for setting up of hosiery cluster in the village, he said.

"This has become possible only because of the initiative taken by Haryana industry and commerce department. The establishment of such small scale industries will promote industrialisation,'' the spokesperson said.

Sirsa MP Ashok Tanwar said modern machines would be installed by MSME ministry. At government and private level, the textiles would be marketed through tenders and other mediums which would prove beneficial for the people working in this industry, Tanwar added.
