Before Rajdhani, most Gujarati eateries in the city of Mumbai were nondescript, non-air-conditioned places - the kind where people sat on one side of a table and paid for every extra item they ordered. Rajdhani gave Mumbaikars their first experience of what a lavish Gujarati meal tasted like. They were also the first thali joint to pre-plan a monthly menu, and follow it! Rajdhani can also be credited with pioneering the concept of food festivals.
