Kiss to end it:

When it’s been a while since your partner has been at it, instead of ignoring, stand right in front of them, smile, and seal their mouth with a passionate kiss. The chapter will be closed before you know it.

Figure out the cause:

Sense the deeper depression behind the nagging. In most cases, he/she turns bitter because of a lingering hurt. Cup their mouth while they’re speaking, make them sit and spend a minute in silence, ask him/her if there’s something else they want to say. And listen. Control the urge to snap back.

Explain your side:

Once he/she has finished his/her side of the story, explain yours. But don’t get defensive. Starting with, “I’m sorry since it upset you, but I only meant...” is the best way out.

Humour may be the key:

Humour also works in some situations: bow, fold your hands, grin widely, fake a knife attack, act clumsy — your partner’s anger will melt in no time once they see the child in you.

Offer something to make up for it. A special night, a weekend getaway, something they’ve always wanted to do with you. It shows how much you value them, even if you can’t fulfill all expectations.
