The Congress party legislators Saturday passed one-line resolution authorising All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Sonia Gandhi to announce the new chief minister of Himachal Pradesh. The resolution was passed in Congress Legislature party meeting (CLP) held in Shimla.
The Congress AICC general secretary, Janardhan Dwivedi and Birnder Singh who is also the state party in-charge had arrived in the afternoon while Delhi chief minister Shiela Dixit reached Shimla by a special chartered flight for the meeting.
The resolution was moved by HPCC president Virbhadra Singh while the CLP leader Vidya Sotkes and former PCC president Kaul Singh seconded the resolution.
After the resolution was moved, the three observers sought individual views from all the legislators barring former transport minister GS Bali and Doon MLA Ram Kumar. Bali could not make to the meeting because of illness. Few days ago, he was hospitalised in All India Insitutue of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi for the treatment of foot injury while Ram Kumar, who is wanted by Haryana Police in a criminal case, did not attend the meeting fearing the arrest.

{{/usCountry}}Meanwhile, the central leaders will leave for Delhi Sunday. The three observers will meet Sonia Gandhi on Sunday to submit their final report. It is learnt that AICC president Sonia Gandhi will make formal announcement of CLP leader after a day or two.
