In the coming days, the changes will be visible to even a casual visitor as the proposed steps towards betterment include improving the lighting arrangements, giving a new colour to the building and provide a clean environment at the post office.

"We will lay stress on having a natural light arrangement in the working area.

Besides, the counter area will be made more customer-friendly", said Post Master General Ashutosh Tripathi.

Not only this, efforts will also be made to face-lift the buildings of those sub-post offices of the Allahabad region which are owned by the department itself.

The steps are being taken to ensure that the customers get clean environment and the staff get proper working atmosphere, said the Post Master General.

He said that in this regard, a meeting will soon be held with the staff members to finalise details of the upgradation. The improvement is being carried out in all the post offices of Uttar Pradesh, he added.

"We have already completed the work of face-lift in Varanasi Cantt and the work at Kutchery and Head Post Office in Allahabad will be accomplished within a couple of months,"said the PMG.

The PMG said that Manjhanpur is the extension counter of Allahabad while Gyanpur and Chandauli are the extension counters of Varanasi and Robertsganj is of Mirzapur.

But, when all four of them will be made Speed Post Centres, they will run independently. Besides, their funding will also be done separately, he said.
