The newly-appointed Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) chief, Praveen Kumar, on Sunday slapped a peon in the department.
The peon, Mukesh Kumar, 29, lodged a complaint with the Civil Lines police station, police said.
The peon alleged that the administrator thrashed him after accusing him of conspiring against him with the help of another official. The Huda chief said that the peon was a corrupt man and harassing people.
The administrator denied the allegation that he thrashed him black and blue.
“I was called by the administrator. He started beating me. I was thrown on the ground in the presence of two other officials. He said that I am conspiring against him with support of another senior official. I am feeling terrified,” Mukesh said.
