A proposal in this regard was put forward by a private firm that manages fencing of the Jim Corbett National Park near Nainital, said Huda administrator Praveen Kumar on Friday.

"We have decided to go ahead with the electrical fencing plans and it should take about 6 months to get it done," he said.

Huda is still to finalise if the power supply to the fence will be from existing electrical poles or it will set up solar power systems.

The solar power-based electric fence system is a modern-day alternative to conventional method of power supply.

Used in many countries across the world, the system is a safe and secured way of keeping intruders away, experts have said.

The system can be put to use both for industrial purposes and domestic purposes, Kumar added.
