“We have asked Huda to work on the roundabout problem in the city. We wrote to them in this regard after traffic volume saw a significant rise since Delhi Metro started service in June 2010. We have also identified Bakhtawar Chowk, Sector 22 and Sector 47 roundabouts for the overhaul,” said Alok Mittal, joint commissioner of Gurgaon Police.

After work on the roundabouts is completed, vehicles will get more space and traffic will be managed by policemen and traffic signals, he added.

“We recently had a meeting with the police department who had requested Huda to remove or reduce the diameter of roundabouts in the city. The one near Huda City Centre will be completely removed,” said Hari Dutt Sharma, executive engineer, division 1, Huda.

In Gurgaon, the traffic police department lacks adequate manpower, so, we have installed signals till the time we have flyovers on such sections,” Mittal added.
