The discovery, near Maheshkishor village under Bhelwaghati police station, was revealed by police on Tuesday.

“Ten sacks of explosive powder and a drum full of liquid explosives were recovered during a raid in the area last night,” Giridih superintendent of police Kranti Kumar Gadidesi said.

He added that the material was enough to make one thousand bombs.

The search operation was conducted by a joint team of police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel.

The security forces were tipped off about a huge consignment of explosives being hidden in the forested area by Maoist rebels.

Subsequently, a team of police and CRPF personnel led by additional superintended of police (operations) Kunal reached the spot and recovered 14 packets each weighing (40–50 kilograms) of different kinds of explosive materials.
