Hundreds attend AIPWA Mahapanchayat

HUNDREDS OF women braved the scorching heat and assembled in front of the Vidhan Bhawan to participate in a Mahapanchayat organised by the All India Progressive Women?s Association on Friday. General secretary of AIPWA, Kumidini Pati, came from Delhi to participate in the Mahapanchayat. Earlier, national vice president, AIPWA, Tahira Hasan, elected five panch - president of AIPWA Lucknow Shobha Singh, State president Kripa Singh, secretary Deoria unit Geeta Singh, secretary of Ballia Anju and secretary of Moradabad Anita Rajput.

HUNDREDS OF women braved the scorching heat and assembled in front of the Vidhan Bhawan to participate in a Mahapanchayat organised by the All India Progressive Women’s Association (AIPWA) on Friday.

General secretary of AIPWA, Kumidini Pati, came from Delhi to participate in the Mahapanchayat. Earlier, national vice president, AIPWA, Tahira Hasan, elected five panch - president of AIPWA Lucknow Shobha Singh, State president Kripa Singh, secretary Deoria unit Geeta Singh, secretary of Ballia Anju and secretary of Moradabad Anita Rajput. They will announce their decision on the cases taken up by the Mahapanchayat on Saturday.

The Mahapanchayat began with the traditional bashing of the Sangh Parivar by the general secretary Kumidini Pati. She blamed the Parivar for creating troubles in the society and promoting crime against women. She also came down heavily on Mayawati government for being not able to stop atrocities on women.

She flayed the present State government for siding with the mafia and not protecting the honour of women.

Tomorrow is the last day of the Mahapanchayat.
