I am not a scared baby: Kareena

The Bollywood actress tells Sidhi Chadha that she is talented enough to pave her way to the top.

O K. Hold your breath because five minutes is all you get of stunner Kareena Kapoor. In town for an HT event, we had a tête-à-tête with the knockout beauty as she talks about her passion, films and Shahid Kapur of course!

Now, that the actress has received a huge honour like the Smita Patil Award, what next?

“I am a little shaken after getting such an honour. Omkara has definitely been the biggest achievement of my career. I will continue working sincerely and try bagging quality projects.”

She looks ravishing in her newly toned avatar, “I am not an extremist when it comes to choosing my looks. I like to strike a balance. My male audience loves my sexy image and my deglamourised look enhances the serious actress in me.”

Ask her about her beau Shahid and she immediately beams. So why is she not signing any films with him? “Shahid and I are keeping a low profile right now because there’s so much media-hype that it becomes a little difficult to live up to expectations. We hope to do films together if we get exciting scripts.”

Now that she’s reached a peak in her career does she still harbour any insecurities or fears? “I am not a scared baby at all. I know I am talented enough to pave my way to the top and sustain it. If my loved ones are beside me then there is no fear!”

At a time when actors are hiring international agents to foray into Hollywood, is she going to join the club? “No way! Why should I venture into any other industry when our Bollywood is so hot abroad?”

Finally, she reveals that the hunt for Mr Right is over. “My search for my dream man ends here, with Shahid. We share a special relationship. We are like friends. I even take dance lessons from him since he’s such a great dancer. I know I will settle down soon but the official announcement is yet to come... so wait for that!”
