Wherever he went, he had people come up to him with a range of questions — on education, reservation, corruption, politics. Talking about the violent deaths of his grandmother and father, he stated that the justice system in the country was very slow. “I haven’t got justice. Seventeen years have passed since my father’s death and the killers are yet to be punished. It took more than seven years to convict the killers of my grandmother although 32 bullets were pumped into her in full public view,” he said. He, however, asserted that despite its slowness, he had faith in the judicial system and its fairness. He was replying to a query on Parliament attack accused Afzal Guru’s clemency plea.

Asked why he had joined politics, he said: “I was 12 when my father joined politics, 20 when my father’s career ended... I am in politics to fulfil my father’s dream.”
