I’ll appeal, says convict

Disgraced but defiant former Haryana DGP S.P.S. Rathore on Wednesday said and he would soon approach a higher court to appeal against his conviction in Ruchika Girhotra molestation case.

Disgraced but defiant former Haryana DGP S.P.S. Rathore on Wednesday said and he would soon approach a higher court to appeal against his conviction in Ruchika Girhotra molestation case.

“Right now, I do not want to comment on the court’s verdict or about this case as it is still not over. I will further move an appeal in a higher court very soon,” Rathore told IANS from his Panchkula residence. “I am not like other people (read complainant Anand Prakash and family), who are giving interviews ... and speak illogical things that come to mind,” Rathore added.

He added: “Personally, I do not have any grudge against the media ... I respect its freedom. I would approach them only when the right time comes.”
