I'll do what the team decides, says Dravid
Dravid has been batting and keeping in ODIs for three years and says he'd be happy to do whatever the team management decides.
Indian vice-captain Rahul Dravid has a certain halo around him after winning the prestigious ICC awards but he is ever ready to buckle down and serve the team in more than one capacity in the Champions Trophy beginning here tomorrow.
"I'm extremely delighted at these awards but it hasn't really sunk-in, to be honest," said the modest Indian star who was named the Player of the Year and the Test cricketer of the Year at the ICC Awards function on Tuesday night.
"As for my cricket, there is a lot more I can still do."
But to many, Dravid is already doing enough - he has been batting and keeping in one-day cricket regularly for three years now and says he is happy to go with whatever the team management decides even if it can be physically wearing at times.
"It is team management's decision and I go by it. It is not for others to presume that I like it or don't like it," said Dravid.
"Sure, it puts extra physical effort but I have been able to cope with it because of my improved fitness.
"To be honest, it is not so difficult to do it in these conditions compared to say Sri Lanka where the conditions can be hot and oppressive," the stylish middle order batsman said.
