'I saw Pravin fire 3rd bullet'

Mahajan's wife Rekha said she wanted to save her husband. But the assailant had managed to escape by the time she arrived.

BJP General Secretary Pramod Mahajan's wife Rekha has told the police that she had seen Pravin fire the third shot, police said.

Rekha said that she wanted to protect Pramod from the gunshots, but Pravin's gun got jammed by the time she reached and the assailant managed to escape.

Later, she rang up her daughter Poonam and brother-in-law Munde, asking them to rush to the house.

This was revealed after police recorded the statements of Mahajan's family members, including his wife and BJP leader Gopinath Munde.
