THE 22nd zonal conference of chief commissioners of Income Tax, North Zone, was held at the Direct Taxes Regional Training Institute in Gomti Nagar here on Saturday. The conference hosted by Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Vinod Kumar, was chaired by Arun Bhargava, member (Revenue), Central Board of Direct Taxes, New Delhi.
On the agenda were topics related to strategies to achieve budge collection targets.
The participants also discussed issues arising out of the Action Plan 2006-07 and strategies to be devised for effective implementation of new laws concerning banking cash transaction tax (BCCT), Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) and securities transaction tax and other matters related to computerization, survey and search etc.
Chief commissioners of New Delhi, North Western Region, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal attended the zonal meet, which was also a prelude to the annual conference of the chief commissioners and director general of income tax to be held in New Delhi on July 4 and 5.
Finance Minister P Chidambaram would interact with the participants in the opening session of the conference.
