AKANKSHA’S MENTAL scars will take time to heal. Following Rajeev’s refusal to marry her for her family’s failure to give enough dowry, she is suffering from depression. Her marriage with Rajeev was fixed for June 7, but he never turned up at her doorstep with baraat.
However, the police are not making any efforts to get hold of the accused. Her brother Nalini Ranjan said, “The police are not making any effort to work out the case. Whenever we want to know about the progress of the case, they merely say the accused are absconding. Besides, the cops do not take any initiative to collect details of relatives of the accused, living in the city.”
The indifferent attitude of the police was indicative of the fact that they did not want to take any action against the culprits. Meanwhile, Rajeev, filed an application for surrender before the court, and the court issued an order to the police station concerned to confirm if the person was wanted in any case.
Reacting to the incident, Akanksha says, “The incident has shaken me up completely. Now, I just want that Rajeev and his family are punished for their greed.”
