“Sir, tera saal se bahar ek ladki mera intezaar kar rahi hai, issi ummeed mein ke ek din mein bahar aoonga aur hum dono nikaah padenge, (Sir for the last 13 years, a girl has been waiting for me, with the hope that I will return to marry her).”
That was Mohammed Ghansar — he was convicted on Wednesday in the 1993 serial blasts case — pleading for mercy to Judge PD Kode in the special TADA court on Friday.
Incidentally, the girl Ghansar was referring to is Mubina Parkar, the daughter of co-accused Sharif Parkar. Parkar was allegedly one of the landing agents along the Raigad coast.
Mubina and Ghansar have met only inside Arthur road jail. Mubina would come to meet her father and it was during one of these meetings that Ghansar was introduced to her.
“On no occasion have I misbehaved in jail or in court. I have an aged mother and sister and younger brother. Since 1993, when I was arrested, my family has faced a lot of hardships,” he pleaded on.
“Humarefamily bhi hamare rishtein ko accept kiya hai. Mere maa toh chahti hai ke jald hamare shaadi ho jaaye take woh baccho ke saath khel sake. Mein apne maa ka sapna pura karna chahta hu (Our family’s have accepted our relationship. My mother wants us to get married soon so she can play with my kids. I want to fulfill my mothers dream).” Ghansar said.

Her family has been flooded with marriage proposals for her, but she has refused all of them for me, so how can I disappoint her?”
