“We are working out synergies for bringing about greater awareness of the investment potential and trade opportunities for US in India particularly in State of UP in sectors like food processing, tourism, power etc to make UP one of the most happening states in India. We are also making sincere efforts to identify industries and services that are suitable for UP”, said President of IACC Deepak Pahwa, during a joint press conference here on Sunday.

Echoing the same commitment, regional President of IACC Vinod Madhok, North Indian Council said it was necessary to have private public partnership for development of UP for toning of infrastructure, promotion of tourism and in enhancing the level of excellence of education institutions spread across the State.

“UP, being the largest State in the country and having a large number of unemployed people, should give more importance to industries which are employment intensive”, he said, adding: “Traditional sectors like jems and jewellery, textiles, food processing etc should be given focused attention since there is an overwhelming presence of such industries in UP.”

Chairman Varanasi branch of IACC Puneet Raman said the chamber was contemplating a number of programmes in several cities of Uttar Pradesh for sensitising the process for visa-seekers to US and approaches for getting the visas.
