A bullet hit an Indian Air Force chopper flying over Doda in Jammu division on Sunday, following which high security arrangements have been made.
According to police sources, the chopper had a hole in the tail when it landed in Drass. Air Officer Commanding in Chief (AOC-In-C) Air Marshal J Chouhan confirmed the incident. He, however, said it has not been re-established that it was shot (by terrorists).
Air Marshal Chouhan said high security and precautions are being taken while flying in J&K.
IAF regularly carries out regular sorties in Gurez, Kargil, Leh and Kishtwar and Doda areas.
Earlier in May, an IAF chopper was hit by a 20MM bullet in its tail by terrorists in Doda area. The chopper was coming from Pathankote.
The Union home ministry had then advised the IAF not to fly choppers at a low-height in terrorism-infested areas in the state.
