Chairman of the Bihar Bureau of Public Enterprises allegedly beat up a peon triggering a noisy protest by the employees.

Chairman of the Bihar Bureau of Public Enterprises R Vaishya allegedly beat up a peon triggering a noisy protest by the employees of the old secretariat on Thursday who demanded immediate his arrest.

The peon Ramnanand Kumar charged Vaishya with beating him up with a stick for allegedly stealing a pen from his official chamber at old secretariat which also houses the offices of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi.

As the news spread around afternoon, secretariat employees demonstrated before the chamber of Vaishya who bolted the door of from inside to avoid media persons, including those of TV channels, who gathered there.

When correspondents of some private TV channels tried to force their way inside, Vaishya, who was accused by the employees of being in an inebriated state, came out and jostled with the cameramen, snatched and threw on the ground the cameras of two news channels.

The Secretariat Employees' Union representatives said they were contemplating to get a case registered against Vaishya and also seeking appointment with the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary GS Kang to ventilate their grievances.
