THE FIVE-DAY sports meet of the IES College of Pharmacy concluded in the City on Friday. Various events including cricket, badminton, carom and chess were organised in the meet.
On the concluding day, Bhagat House defeated Subhash Chnadra House by 19 runs in cricket final. Imran was declared ‘man of the match’. In the boys’ badminton singles final, Santosh Singh defeated Rajendra Kumar Patel. Santosh Singh and Suresh Savle pair defeated Deepak Malviya in the doubles.
In the girls’ badminton singles final, Ujma Khan defeated Ankita Shah. Ankita Shah and Imran won in the mixed doubles category defeating Suchi Gupta and Anand.
Vaibhav Jain defeated Imran in the final of the carrom singles. Ritesh Raj and Kamlesh Chauhan pair won the doubles.
Chief Guest Commissioner Higher Education SN Mishra congratulated the winners. Speaking on the occasion, Mishra appreciated the IES management for providing good support to the sports activities as well as the qualitative education.
Former Olympian Syed Jalaluddin Rizvi, IES College chairman BS Yadav, secretary Sunita Singh, principal Deepak Agrawal and others were present at the closing ceremony.
