The MOU was signed by the NSIC chief general manager and IIA president Tarun Khetrapal.

Khetrapal told the HT that under the MOU, the websites of the two organisations would be connected and small-scale producers would be able to have the latest knowledge of market demand in different areas for goods.

He said for supplying goods to the Central government, registration of departments with the NSIC was a pre-requisite. After the MOU, the registration could be done through the IIA, without difficulty.

In order to create awareness among industrialists about the government policies and schemes, the NSIC will organise industrial camps in collaboration with the Indian Industries Association.

It would assist industrialists in credit rating to enable them to get easy bank loans. According to Khetrapal, the MOU would bring in a drastic change in the marketing pattern of small-scale industrialists and they would now be in a position to capture more customers for their products.

These industrialists were producing quality goods and in adequate quantity to cater to the needs of buyers, but for want of good marketing network, they had been lagging behind in sales, he said and added that association with the NSIC would boost small-scale industries in the next few years.
