THIRD CONVOCATION of Indian Institute of Information Technology-Allahabad (IIIT-A) will be held at the sprawling lawns on Jhalwa campus on August 12 , 2006.
Around 20 medals are supposed to be awarded during the convocation. Notice has been circulated to all the departments concerned to gear up for the significant event. The institute has planned to award its highest degree D Sc to the Senior Professor Satish Kumar Tripathi, Provost and Executive Vice President , Academic Affairs , Buffalo University, Sunny New York, informed the director, Dr M D Tiwari.
To recall the second convocation of IIIT-A was held on October 21,2005 where Ashok Misra , Director, IIT-Bombay, was the chief guest while it was presided over by FC Kohli, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIIT-A and Dr. Murli Dhar Tiwari, who inspired the students with their words of encouragement. Gold medals were awarded to Ajay Jayant Joshi, Roopesh Maheshwari, Abhimanyu Lad, Sandeep Gupta and Mohd. Fuzail Ansari.
The e-circular 2006 states that "All students who have completed their B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, MPCLIS during 2006 may note that their convocation has been scheduled for 12th August 2006 from 11 am onwards. All alumni and their parents are invited to attend the convocation ceremony. Details of the programme will be announced shortly on campus as well on the main page of the Institute's website".
Significantly, this is one of those events for which all the students wait with bated breath, when the certificate of their toil is awarded to them and their untiring efforts are recognised by one and all, the day when they make their parents, mentors and friends proud.

Among the students invited are those selected for the following honours: B.Tech, MBA, M.Tech, MPCLIS, PhD, Special Recognition in Graduate Studies, Scholarship and Award Recipients, Honour Society Initiates, and Alumni Certificate of Honour Recipients.
