A BUSINESS Plan— the document that spells out a company's expected course of action for a specified period, usually including a detailed listing and analysis of risks and uncertainties— drawn up by a four-member team comprising MBA (IT) final-year students of Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-A) has been short-listed as one of the best 10 plans in the B-Planz category of the prestigious all-India competition: Anveshan-2006.

Dubbed as the nation-wide search for high-tech, high-impact innovators, entrepreneurs, scientists and students, the competition is organised by the Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) at the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-A).
The top two winners of B-Planz, to be decided from among the 10 finalists after assessment by an eminent panel of judges of a power-point presentation by the teams at IIM-A on January 15, will end up winning Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively besides getting an opportunity to see their dream company actually take birth with the help of IIIM-A's expertise and resources.
"We are delighted at making it to the finals of the competition and are now preparing for the January 15 presentation at IIM-A when we will try to impress the judges, comprising of entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and technical experts, with our vision of a 'Rights Manager' as specified in our B-plan," informed Abhinav Johri, who came up with the operations and sales aspect of the plan.
Other three members of the team include Sachin K Singh (Technology aspect), Shakil Ahmad (Marketing aspect) and Soumita Mukerji (Financial aspect).

{{/usCountry}}Abihnav said that during the all-important presentation, his team will focus on demonstrating their understanding of the problems, the vision and clarity of thought to provide solutions, the business potential of the venture and a concrete plan of action.
Last year also, IIIT-A's MBA students: Abhinav Johri, Sachin K Singh, Shakil Ahmad and Jayant Sahu had stood first in the national-level business case study and business presentation competition held at IIITM- Gwalior by defeating teams from reputed institutes like IIFT-New Delhi and IIM-Indore.
