"This programme will be a unique intiative and a first of its kind in the country," IIM-A Director Bakul Dholakia said after signing the MoU with officials of Duke CE.

"The customised corporate education programmes are designed specifically to meet the needs of a targeted group of managers in one single company," Dholakia added.

"Duke CE (Durham, USA) is the world's leading provider of customised corporate education in the world, and in collaboration with them we plan to develop high-level managerial talent in India and Middle East," he said, adding that they will also focus on corporates from South-East Asia in the future.

"If India has to achieve a growth rate of 10 per cent, then the corporate sector has to grow by 12 to 14 per cent every year. For this kind of growth the existing managerial pool is not enough. We need to train and develop the skills of top managers of our corporate sector," the director explained.

"This programme will be customised as per the needs of the corporate clients," he said.
