IIT-K students protest Venugopal's ouster

Students of IIT-Kanpur and Ganesh Shanker Vidyarathi Medical College on Friday took out a candlelight procession protesting the dismissal of P Venugopal as director of AIIMS.

Carrying placards and posters which read that Venugopal was being made a "scapegoat", the students took out a procession from the medical college premises to Moti Jheel area raising slogans against Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss.

The IIT-Kanpur students were already agitating against the reservation policy of the Centre.

Medicos of GSVMC have threatened to intensify their agitation after consulting students of other medical colleges in the state.
