The Noida Authority on Tuesday demolished temporary unauthorised banquet halls at GIP International Recreation Parks Private Limited complex adjacent to GIP mall.
Authority project engineer Babu Ram said, "IRPPL was running unauthorised banquet halls in the complex. Earlier, the management was served notice to stop commercial activities, but the notice was taken lightly by the complex management." "The management had constructed three temporary banquet halls adjacent to the mall. They had even outsourced the site to some other company. Marriage functions were being held here. Temporary stalls were also set up there, which were demolished by the authority," said Ram.
"IRPPL management again constructed the structures. But this time, it was made of bamboo and other material," said Ram. "On Tuesday, around five bulldozers razed all the unauthorised halls within an hour."
IRPPL vice-president Benu Sehgal refused to comment.
