MUNICIPAL COMMISSIONER Satya Narayan Srivastava carried out inspection in Lukerganj and Preetamnagar to take stock of sanitation, streetlight and others civic facilities in the area on Wednesday.

The anti-encroachment drive in the area started from Kamla Nehru road where kiosks occupying the roadside were removed. The owners were let off after a warning and penalty.
First, the squad, led by Srivastava, demolished an illegally constructed private chamber in Lukerganj. Further, the squad removed the encroachment from a slab over a nearby nullah. Four similar encroachment in same area were also removed during the drive. Over a dozen erring vendors were penalised an amount of Rs 50 to 200.
Meanwhile, Ganesh Bhadur Singh, the security guard posted at electric crematorium Daraganj, was caught red-handed consuming liquor on duty at 3.30 pm. He was handed over to the police. An FIR has been lodged against him.
