Some of these building owners already removed the commercial establishments from the basements and started using the basements for parking purposes while BMC took action against other buildings.

In KK Plaza on plot number 1 in Zone-II, BMC had already taken action against basements and the building owner removed bikes parked in the basement.

In the building on plot number 2 owned by one Suraj Prasad Sadana, the BMC team removed a workshop from the basement. Similarly, the BMC removed the illegal structure in the building housing owned by Quality Associates.

At least four building owners removed their illegal structures on their own and started parking facilities in the basements.

BMC additional commissioner K K Singh Chauhan and City Planner Sanjay Mishra led the team. Earlier on Monday, Minister for Urban Administration and development Jayant Malaiya visited MP Nagar. In a meeting later on, it was decided that action would be taken only against the buildings on big plots.
