INDORE MUNICIPAL Corporation (IMC) has asked corporators to scout suitable locations in their constituencies where parking facilities could be developed.
Once a list of potential sites is submitted, a market department team would then review the area. Based on their recommendations, IMC administration would decided whether to set up an open air, covered or multi-storied parking facility at the site.
Although the Corporation has announced that it would develop 20 multi-storied parking lots in various parts of the City the project is likely to take anywhere between three and five years.
In the meantime, with the number of vehicles registering an exponential growth parking space is at a premium. The shortage of space has hit car owners particularly hard with hundreds forced to park their vehicles long way from their destination.
Parking vehicles on road is common and frequently leads to altercations when the car/scooter is parked in front of a business establishment.
