Terming separatists' attempt to cross the Line of Control as "blackmailing tactics", the Amarnath Sangarsh Samiti, spearheading the stir over the land transfer row, on Monday asked the Centre to resolve the vexed issue at the earliest.
The situation in the strife-torn state could worsen if there there was a delay in finding an amicable solution to the issue, Samiti leaders told reporters here.
Home Minister Shivraj Patil should resolve the issue immediately after interacting with people in both Jammu region and Kashmir valley, said Leela Karan Sharma, convenor of the Samiti.
Accusing the Centre of being weak in taking a decision on the matter, he said the Samiti had already presented its case before an all-party delegation, led by Patil, which visited Jammu last week.
Asked whether there was any proposal from the government to resolve the problem, Sharma said "so far there is no such move. If any proposal comes, we will study it and react to it after taking legal opinion."
The Samiti had submitted its demands in writing to the delegation which included removal of Governor NN Vohra and restoration of land to the Amarnath Shrine Board, Sharma and other Samiti leaders said.

They termed the march against the "economic blockade" of the valley as "blackmailing tactics".
A meeting of the Samiti, a conglomerate of 35 political, religious and social outfits, here today decided to boycott official functions on the Independence Day.
It also decided to launch a fill the jail campaign from August 18 unless its demands were met, the leaders said.
