Lack of aggression, poor technique and improper team selection have led to India's pathetic show in South Africa, according to former skipper Mohammad Azharuddin.

"We need to be aggressive. At the same time, the opening partnership is crucial. Good opening stands are not happening," Azharudding told mediapersons in Kolkata.
"It is a combination of poor technique and improper selection that is responsible for the below par showing. Also they are not dominating the bowlers. They need to outthink them," he said.
Regarded as one of the most gifted wristy strokemakers in the country during his playing days, Azhar said that the Indians could get out of the rut if they fielded the right combination.
"Put new players on the job as they have a lot to prove. See Dinesh Kaarthick. He may have not scored too many runs in South Africa. But see his aggression," he said.
He underscored that with Yuvraj Singh ruled out of action, India should have persisted with Mohammad Kaif.
"Kaif should have been there. The team needs to persist with him," he said.
