As may as 25 such stations have been identified including Allahabad, Varanasi, Ghazipur and Jaunpur falling under the Allahabad postal region, where the IMTS is not functioning since long.

"Presently, there are 126 stations in the region where IMTS is existence and out of these stations those which are not in a working condition have been identified and the service will soon be re-started at these stations", said Post Master General (PMG), Ashutosh Tripathi. With the help of IMTS, a person residing abroad can easily send money, as it is a smooth service, said Tripathi, adding, once the International Money Transfer Service is revived at these stations, it will not only provide hassle-free service to the customers but will also help in increasing the business of the department.

The department will be making all efforts to generate awareness among people regarding the service to be revived at the identified stations, he said. "Work in this regard will be completed within a month", said the PMG.
