The war of words witnessed during the peak of poll campaign in Tamil Nadu have now taken a technological avtar as 'political satires', widely circulated as SMSs to cellphone users of the state.
Among the picture messages beeping into most of the cellphones here, is one of AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa or 'Amma' as she is popularly called, in tears.
It is intended to 'graphically' depict her sorrow over her party's dismal performance in the polls.
Another SMS on Jaya reads that the 'mahurat' of a new film held on May 11 has been titled as "Amma Summa" (meaning Jayalalithaa is nothing), with Sarathkumar as the hero, Simran as the heroine, MDMK general secretary Vaiko as the comedian and the comedienne Kovai Sarala giving him company.
This particular message intends to convey that despite inducting film stars, the AIADMK could not muster majority.
"Wake up, buy Dinakaran for Re 1, go to ration shop, buy rice for Rs 2, cook that rice in free gas stove kept on two acres of free land," reads another SMS doing the rounds.
It is being interpreted as a pun on how DMK's freebies will have an adverse impact on the state and make people lazier.
