Incessant rains continue lashing Kolhapur since last night with total rainfall recorded till on Wednesday morning reached to 513 mm, sources in district collectorate said.

Incessant rains continue lashing Kolhapur since last night with total rainfall recorded till on Wednesday morning reached to 513 mm, sources in district collectorate said.

Highest rainfall of 170 mm was recorded in Radhanagari taluka, they said.

In Radhanagari dam 1.69 TMC water has been stored which is 14 per cent of its total capacity, they said, adding that water level was increasing in the catchment areas of other dams like Tulashi, Warana and Patgaon.

Four Bandharas at Rajaram, Rui, Terwad and Shingnapur dams have gone under water, they said.

Besides that water level of river Panchaganga, Waranna, Krishna, Kumbhi-Kasari, Dudhganga, Vedganga, Hirankeshi and Tamraparni is also increasing.

Situation in the district is normal but all the emergency arrangements have been placed to meet any eventuality, sources said.
