India needs social justice movement

FORMER CHAIRMAN of All India Backward Classes Commission Justice (Retd) Ram Surat Singh said here on Tuesday that the country needed a national social justice movement to build modern India as a socialist and secular republic based on social justice and human dignity and this would be the real tribute to veteran socialist leader Roop Nath Singh Yadav.

Addressing a seminar held here yesterday at 30, Hasimpur Road on ‘Reservation in Superior Judiciary and Private Sector’, he said that the authority of the state and the instrumentality of the state, in order to protect the vested interests of a section of the society, was bent upon blocking reservation and constitutional guarantee to the downtrodden sections of society. Justice (Retd) Sakha Ram Singh Yadav of the Allahabad High Court said that the nation was passing through the second phase of freedom movement, a struggle for social and economic equality.
