THE CLOSING ceremony of the centenary celebrations of Bank of India was organised at Ravindra Natya Grah on Thursday. IIM Indore Director Dr S P Parashar and Bank Zonal Manager R C Khurana jointly inaugurated the programme by lighting a lamp.
Dr Parashar said that India has intellectual and determined work force but it needs to discover more job sources. He further said that there is immediate need to create at least 10 lakh job opportunities.
Dr Parashar also spoke about importance and forms of management. He said that the banking industry must gear up to face all the challenges. Suvarna Deshpande presented Saraswati Vandana. Khurana, Bank Assistant General Manager B M Bhandarkar and Chief Manager J K Bhargav felicitated the famous personalities of Indore with certificate, memento and bouquet.
Eye surgeon Dr P S Hardia, national cricket selector Sanjay Jagdale, Madhya Pradesh Table Tennis Association secretary Jayesh Acharya and Arjun award winner Sushma Golwalkar were felicitated in the programme. Bhandarkar gave a report of the bank’s activities and achievements in the programme.
Khurana highlighted importance of customers, dedication of bank employees and need for better customer service in his address. He said that with modern technology and advanced methods every bank is trying to provide the customer with maximum satisfaction. Customer satisfaction is the key to success, he added.

{{/usCountry}}Economist Dr V D Nagar said that the increasing number of foreign banks in the country has created an alarming situation for the Indian banks. The stability of market and success of any bank now depends on its capacity to deal with the outer competition, said Dr Nagar. The exhibition of bank’s staff member Vishwanath Bhave’s paintings was also inaugurated on the occasion.
