Launching the e-treasury at a function in Bhopal, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said his government is committed to transforming Madhya Pradesh into a pioneering state in key areas of development by harnessing information technology.

Observing that old practice of budget sanction has been put to an end, Chouhan said now budgets are being transmitted to departments on the first working day of the financial year.

Besides, all concerned sections would be consulted before finalising budgets and their suggestions would be incorporated in the budget making process, he said.

Referring to problems of pensioners, the Chief Minister asked the authorities concerned to ensure payment of all dues to government personnel on the day of their retirement and to resolve all pension-related issues.

Chouhan also asked the tax payers to take full advantage of the online facility through the website -- www.Mptreasury.Org -- for paying tax on time in a hassle free way.
