The Indian bowling attack is no big threat and the hosts can be defeated if Pakistani batsmen perform up to their potential, says former Pakistan captain and wicket-keeper Moin Khan.

"Historically, India has had just better than average bowling attacks and their victories have been set up by their world-class batting," the News quoted Moin Khan as saying.

"It is their batsmen who put up big scores and thus allow their bowlers to bowl without any pressure and take wickets," the 33-year old said.

Moin pointed out that Pakistan would use the same strategy as the team has a limited pace bowling attack in the absence of injured fast bowlers Shoaib Akhtar and Umar Gul and Shabbir Ahmed.

"Our batting has to click consistently in India in the Test matches. If the batsmen can get big totals, then it would also allow our bowlers the chance to bowl without pressure and get the Indians out," said the man who was in the team when Pakistan toured India in 1999.

"I am a bit concerned with our bowling because when we went there last time in 1999 for the Test matches we had a bowling attack that included Wasim Akram, Saqlain Mushtaq, Waqar Younis and Shoaib Akhtar was in top form," said the veteran of 69 Tests and 219 one-day internationals.

Moin observed that Pakistan was fortunate that the current tour had good venues that would encourage positive batting.

"I think they will get very good Test pitches at Mohali and Kolkata. The only venue where India can go for a low bounced and turning pitch is at Bangalore where the 'square' is normally always tough," he recalled.
