On the first anniversary of the terror attack on the Indian Embassy in Kabul, officials and other staff of the Mission remembered their four colleagues and others who were killed in the suicide bombing.
A special function was organised at the Embassy last evening where tributes were paid to those killed, including senior IFS officer V Rao and Defence Attache Brigadier Ravi Dutt Mehta.
Silence was observed for about one minute in memory of the deceased.
At the solemn event, Indian Ambassador to Afghanistan Jayant Prasad remembered the vital contributions of the deceased officials, a statement said in New Delhi.
He said their ideas are a guiding factor in strengthening of relations between India and Afghanistan.
On the morning of July 7, last year, a vehicle laden with about 100 kgs of RDX was blown at the gate of the Embassy, killing Rao, Mehta and two ITBP personnel besides 56 locals.
Afghanistan and India have said Pakistan's ISI was involved in the attack.
