The Indian eves had a disappointing World Cup campaign in Madrid, where they lost five games, drew one and won one to be 11th among 12 teams.

India, who had 536 points before the quadrennial tournament, now have 850 points in their kitty. But, as other teams are far ahead in terms of points, their marginal improvement did not see any rise in the Asian team's ranking.

The Netherlands consolidated their position atop the ranking ladder by winning the World Cup.

Australia, who were the runners-up in the World Cup, were the big gainers among the top-ranked sides as they jumped from 4th to 2nd place.

But Argentina and Germany slipped one place each to be third and fourth respectively.

Spain, who finished fourth at Madrid, gained three positions to become 7th while Japan, by virtue of their fifth place achievement in World Cup, bagged the 6th spot.

Rankings (Top 10): 1. The Netherlands (2556), 2. Australia (2180), 3. Argentina (2158), 4. Germany (2015), 5. China (1716), 6. Japan (1410), 7. Spain (1355), 8. New Zealand (1271), 9. Korea (1255), 10. USA (1180).
