A suspected gang of human traffickers from India was arrested by Belgian police, a court in the town of Dendermonde reported.

The arrests came after a custodial judge in the town issued arrest warrants for 10 people suspected of regularly smuggling illegal immigrants across to Britain, the court reported on Wednesday.

The would-be immigrants from India, Pakistan and Afghanistan had to pay up to 6,000 euros ($7,130 dollars) for the journey. They were packed into lorries in car parks along Belgium's motorways.
