Without anyone knowing of his plight, Jehangir died at Kathmandu's Model Hospital after battling death for a week.

On April 24, a day before King Gyanendra was forced to relinquish absolute power, Jehangir had gone to Tripureshwor in Kathmandu where he was caught in an anti-king demonstration.

As security personnel began baton-charging unarmed protesters and throwing tear-gas shells, Jehangir was caught in the violence. He was beaten up by riot police who targeted the heads of demonstrators despite repeated condemnation by human rights activists.

Jehangir, who had come to Kathmandu from Bihar's Sitamarhi district, was a tailor by profession. His dream was simple: to find a way to support his family. But he paid for it with his life.

With his death, 19 people have died so far in the protests against monarchy that shook Nepal for 19 days.

His death came a day after India received news of an Indian engineer being killed by the Taliban in Afghanistan.
