British medical fraternity is rather cautious in its assessments but Dr Rosy Daniel has had no hesitation in declaring that she has "seen walking miracles". She asserted that she has seen cases of cancer, in Britain and in India, in which because of Carctol tumours have disappeared.
She has indeed stuck her neck out and could be roundly attacked by critics from both orthodox and complementary medicine, as there is no laboratory trials on the product. Dr Daniel, formerly medical director of the Bristol Cancer Help Centre, told the Telegraph that she "knows what she has witnessed".
Carctol is a mixture of eight medicinal herbs and has its basis in traditional Hindu medicine. It is taken along with a non-acidic diet, a digestive enzyme and very large quantities of water, three to five times a day.
"All science starts with observation and I am not claiming anything for Carctol. I am reporting a phenomenon." She added that over the years she had seen a number of remarkable recoveries but "since I have been putting people on Carctol I have seen miracles".
She claimed that for the first time in 20 years she had a medicine that she believed made a difference. She hoped more trials would be held.

{{/usCountry}}Carctol was developed in Rajasthan by Dr Nandlal Tiwari, who has been using it for 25 years. Dr Daniel went to India to meet him and see the results herself. She has now been using Carctol, which costs about £90 a month, for four years. Until now she prescribed it to 860 patients. In some cases cancer has not progressed and in a few patients the tumour has shrunk or disappeared. Most doctors are yet to be convinced.
