A Canadian of Indian origin was arrested at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport for allegedly trying to smuggle out dollars.

Deepak Dewan was arrested on Tuesday with $10,000 found hidden in his handbag following a security check, the Kathmandu Post reported Wednesday.
According to Nepal's immigration rules, anyone carrying foreign currency worth more than $1,000 has to declare the amount. Dewan, who was flying to Canada via Doha, has been detained for investigation, the Post said.
Recently another Canadian of Indian origin hit the headlines here for suing a casino. But police said Amit Bedi was wanted by Interpol for crimes committed in Canada.
