Indian sentenced to death in Kuwait

Smokat has been sentenced to death by a criminal court for premeditated murder of his lover last year.

An Indian in Kuwait has been sentenced to death by a court for killing his lover and later trying to commit suicide.

Identified as Smokat S, he was given the death sentence by the criminal court for the premeditated murder of Jamona S on December 13 last year.

While delivering the judgement the court gave him one month's time to file an apppeal.

The accused murdered his paramour after having sex with her in her sponsor's home.

After strangulating her, he covered the victim with a blanket and left her on the roof of her sponsor's home.

The man later tried to kill himself by cutting his wrist, but his friends prevented him and was arrested by the police, the Arab Times reported.
